Class Overview:

The Drama/Musical Theater Program at Precision is designed to provide a well-rounded introduction to the world of the theater and to help your children grow as actors and performers.  We will be focusing on much more than just production numbers (though we will have those too!).  Below of some of the highlights of the program:

·         Voice (beginner)

·         Movement and Choreography assisted by Rachael Trexler

·         Acting

·         Scene/Character Study

·         Stage Presence

In addition to the above, we will be breaking down and studying individual plays and musicals as a group.

Performance opportunities are built into the program.  All students will be performing in all Precision Studios recitals.  We will also be working on cabaret performances and, as the program grows, full theatrical productions.

The Drama/Musical Theater Program will promote the idea that a theater company is a family.  It is also a place for love and acceptance.  We are a team!  We are a place where young actors can come and show vulnerability.  They will be asked to perform in front of one another.  This is a requirement of the class.  With that in mind, intolerance and bullying have no place in this program and will not be accepted.  Each individual performer may not be on the same level; however, it is our job as a group to be supportive and encouraging.    Any student who is unable to abide by these standards will be asked to leave.

The magic of live theater is unlike any other entertainment medium.  It is a truly special experience, and one we can’t wait to share with your children!
